Why do I need HomeFree at Home?
HomeFree at Home will provide security and support to
help caregivers' of Alzheimer's patients at home.
You will be able to care for your loved one at home longer, control chances
of wandering while continuing daily routines.
How
does the system work?
The patient will wear the Personal Watcher™ a watch
style transmitter. The system will be calibrated to monitor the area in
and around the house, according to caregiver's instructions. When the
patient leaves the designated area, the system automatically alerts caregivers.
Alerts may be audible and may also be sent locally by pager. Simultaneously,
the system calls the central service, where a representative, in turn,
contacts caregivers for additional assistance. Updates can also be sent
via cellular telephones, e-mail and Short Message Service (SMS) to, where
available.
How is the Personal Watcher™ fitted?
Like a regular wristwatch. A specially designed fastener
secures it. The fastener can be opened by the caregiver only.
What if the patient tries to or removes the
Personal Watcher™?
Similar alerts are induced upon tamper or removal of the
Personal Watcher™.
Is the Personal Watcher™ water-resistant?
Yes.
What type of infrastructure
is required for installation?
HomeFree at Home monitoring units are simply plugged into
electricity and telephone outlets. No complicated installation required.
Do I need a separate phone line?
No. The system simply plugs into your current telephone
jack. Your household phone will continue to work normally.
What if I need to leave the home?
The system will emit and audible alarm in and around
the house and also notify you by pager. When you need to leave the home,
it is advisable to use the optional central monitoring service, which
will be able to contact you on your cellular phone in case of an alert.
