HomeFree Monitoring System: Help to Reduce Time Spent Caregiving
Excerpt:
"One technique that may help reduce the time spent caregiving is the HomeFree device. The HomeFree device is a wireless electronic system, which is designated to reduce caregiver's concerns about the AD person's safety. The system works by initiating an alert signal when the person leaves the home or a designated safe area. The HomeFree system is composed of a digital watch that the AD person wears, a monitoring unit, and a pager for the caregiver. If the AD person enters an area that is considered not safe, the monitoring unit will sound an alarm and the caregiver will be contacted by pager."
